As medication use increases in American households, so does the risk of accidental overdoses in young children. Medication overdoses are a leading cause of emergency department visits among children, but many can be prevented with simple safety measures.

HCSAC partners with Cook Children’s Poison Prevention program to help families keep medications safely out of children’s reach. Through this partnership, families receive education on safe medication storage and medication lock boxes to help prevent accidental overdoses.
